Our Neighbourhood
RoofTop is located in a very safe residential area in Kerr Seringe, a cultural melange of African compounds where daily life is still very simple and basic alongside upmarket villas set in fragrant gardens full of exotic birds and cheeky monkeys playing hide and seek. RoofTop is set on a local road where during the day you can watch local life, children playing, ladies shopping and customers visiting nearby restaurants. As in all of Gambia’s residential areas, daily life be quite boisterous. We just love the genuine Gambian street-life atmosphere around us and we are convinced that you also will appreciate our ‘real’ Gambian ambiance.
The usual bustling tourist life is not far away - a ten minute walk takes you to Senegambia, Gambia’s main restaurant and nightclub area and the busy Senegambia beach. Ten minutes’ walk in the opposite direction and you’ll find the stunning and tranquil Bijilo beach and relaxing quiet beach bars. Bijilo Forest Park with its famous monkey sanctuary is located just on the other side of ‘our’ highway. Fifteen minutes’ drive will take you to the bustling Serrekunda market the largest in Gambia where you can haggle and buy everything you don’t need.RoofTop is located in a very safe residential area in Kerr Seringe, a cultural melange of both African compounds where daily life is still very simple and basic, mixed with up market villas set in fragran
